Song Song Meow (Happy Happy Cat) @wuchengan was created by a Taiwanese illustrator/artist, SECOND in 2013. Song Song Meow, a mobile phone-holding cat with its iconic single eyebrow and positive messages endeared itself to people of all walks of life in Taiwan.
In a very short time, Song Song Meow’s popularity expanded beyond its initial followers and expanded to large public venues. Song Song Meow became the first character to grace the walls and billboards in Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport as well as having its own MRT-themed train in 2014.
Song Song Meow gained even more popularity worldwide and in 2015, the well-known LOFT department store in Japan started advertising Song Song Meow’s image in its stores and the hugely popular messenger app LINE introduced Song Song Meow’s characters in its emoji library. China also caught the Song Song Meow wave and officially entered the Chinese market in 2017. With its heart-warming drawings and healing messages, it has made a real impact in China by collaborating with retail brands such a 7-Eleven and StayReal Café while its published works attracted many readers in China as well as the rest of Asia.
In 2019, our partner Little OH! co-branded with SECOND and launched the SONG SONG MEOW Jewelry Collection which has been a huge success in Asia. Today I’m so excited to be part of Song Song Meow’s journey and have the honor to introduce SONG SONG MEOW to our friends and followers in the USA and Canada. We sincerely wish you all the positivity to heal, to inspire, and to cherish this life through our cute and heartwarming design and messages!
